Disability Insurance
A person involved in a motorcycle accident may file for California State Disability if prescribed by and approved by a medical doctor. Please consult your doctor if you are entitled to disability insurance. In addition, many motorcyclists have credit cards that may provide additional disability or unemployment coverage that is added to their monthly credit bill for coverage. Sometimes, these policies will make the payments on the outstanding balance of your credit cards while you are placed on disability by a medical doctor and unable to work or pay your bills, keeping your credit history good, and providing for payment of these bills while you are out of work.
If you are a homeowner, there may also be additional disability insurance coverage purchased through your mortgage or loan. Please contact your mortgage company to determine if you purchased additional disability insurance coverage. This may provide coverage for payment on your mortgage or house payment during your disability.
